Hungary to scrap four-day motorway vignette from January 1

Hungary will scrap its four-day motorway vignette for passenger cars from January 1, 2012, the National Development Ministry said.
Ten-day vignettes will have the shortest validity for category D1 vehicles from the start of next year, the ministry said. The change brings practices in Hungary in line with vignette systems in neighbouring countries.
The shortest validity for D1 vehicle motorway vignettes is ten days in Austria and seven days in both Slovakia and Slovenia.
