German-owned Hirschmann Car Communication, a maker of car antennas and tuners, on Friday inaugurated a €500,000 expansion of its base in Békéscsaba (SE Hungary).

The investment, necessary because of growing orders, added 1,200sqm to Hirschmann Car Communication's base.

The company covered the cost of the expansion with its own resources, said managing director Peter Inzenhoffer.

Hirschmann Car Communication employs about 460 people in Hungary. The German parent has invested €6m at the unit since it was established 20 years ago.
