Ford strengthens market share in Hungary in 2020

Ford strengthened its market share in Hungary to 12.5% in 2020 thanks to strong performance in the commercial vehicles segment even though sales fell around 20% due to the effect of the pandemic, Ford Hungary said on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Ford Hungary sold 18,782 new passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Hungary in 2020 compared to sales of 23,327 vehicles and a 12% market share a year earlier. In terms of units sold, sales increased by 18% in 2019.

Figures from Datahouse show the Hungarian market narrowed by 18.5% in 2020.

In the light commercial vehicles segment, Ford had a 31.95% market share in 2020 compared to 24% in 2019.
