Ford January-September sales in Hungary rise 20% yr/yr

Car maker Ford sold 20.32% more vehicles in Hungary in January-September 2006 than in the same period a year earlier, the company's Hungarian unit announced on Wednesday.
It had an 11.25% share of the market during the period. Ford sold 14,038 passenger cars in January-September, 19.01% more than in the same period a year earlier, and it sold 3,158 commercial vehicles, 28.95% more than a year before.
In September, Ford sales of passenger and commercial vehicles came to 2,054, up 19.14% from the same month a year earlier. Ford's share of the market rose 3.86 percentage points to 13.41% during the same period. Andrea Laky, who is in charge of Ford sales in Hungary and Slovenia, noted that the figure is remarkable considering the market contracted during the period.
