ABB invests HUF 200bn in Hungary over two decades
Engineering giant ABB has invested more than HUF 200bn in energy and automatisation projects in Hungary in the past 20 years, managing director of the company’s local unit Tanja Vainio said at a press conference on Tuesday.
All five of ABB’s divisions are represented in Hungary, Ms Vainio said. The company counts among its Hungarian business partners the Paks nuclear power plant, drugmaker Gedeon Richter, oil and gas company MOL and electricity distributor ELMU, she added.
ABB will open the capital’s first charging station for electric vehicles, with equipment manufactured in Hungary, in January, Ms Vainio said.
The number of electric cars in Hungary is expected to reach 50,000 by 2020, said ELMU board member Zoltan Kovesdi.
