Hungerit completes HUF 1.7 bln project
Hungary-based poultry company Hungerit wound up the construction of its new poultry logistics system valued at HUF 1.7 bln at its facilities in Szentes, in southeastern Hungary, Hungarian news agency MTI reported yesterday.
The investment was supported with a HUF 250 mln European Union and state grant, Hungerit CEO-president József Magyar said. The CEO added that the development project began one and a half years ago, and is designed to meet animal protection requirements while also improving the quality of the products.
Hungerit is the biggest employer in the region, with a turnover of HUF 45 bln. State secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture György Czerván said Hungerit employs more than 1,500 people and indirectly gives jobs to at least that many.
