HungaroControl Hungarian Air Navigation Services Pte Ltd. and Isavia, the Icelandic air navigation service provider signed a partnership agreement yesterday during the World ATM (air traffic management) Congress 2015 exhibition in Madrid, Spain, HungaroControl said today in a press release.

The agreement will coordinate the future research and development activities of the two organizations and the joint utilization of their resources and expertise. This co-operation will provide an appropriate background, in accordance with the requirements of the Single European Sky (SES) program, to their joint participation in the research and development programs in the EU.

“International collaboration and the improvement of innovative capacities are efficient responses to the changes inherent in the rapid increase in air traffic and the challenges posed by European integration. To this end HungaroControl endeavors to form collaborations that allow partners to learn from each other on several platforms in order to successfully join the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) program dedicated to implementing the future European ATM system,” said HungaroControl CEO, Kornél Szepessy.

“Isavia views the partnership as an opportunity to reinforce research and development in support of the company’s marketing efforts in ATM technology and consultancy service. The cooperation strengthens both companies in terms of capabilities and allocation of resources,” explained Ásgeir Pálsson, Air Navigation Services Director of Isavia.
