Hungarian car-sharing startup wins contest

Hungarian car-sharing startup BeeRides won the Ford Mobility Tour startup competition in Budapest on Thursday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

The competition featured startups from the Visegrád Four countries: Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland. BeeRides is also scheduled to attend the 24-hour AppLink Developer Challenge in Berlin in September.

BeeRides lets outgoing passengers park for free at the airport for at least two days and rent out their cars with full insurance to other pre-screened travelers, the app’s website explains. Members get free parking and a car wash and are paid if their vehicle is rented out, it adds.
