Pasta maker Gyermelyi has completed a HUF 1 billion grain cleaning and storage facility, marketing director Gábor Bokros told national news service MTI on Thursday.

The 32,000-ton store raises Gyermelyi’s total grain storage capacity to 100,000 tons, Bokros said, and the company had added 24 more employees to the rolls with the expansion.

Some HUF 149 million of the project costs were covered by a European Union/Hungarian state grant.

Gyermelyi directly employs 450 workers and produces 26,000 tons of pasta annually, 90% of which is sold domestically for a market-leading share of nearly one-third. For 2013, Gyermelyi reported consolidated revenue of HUF 18.5 billion.
