Revenues of Hungary-based flooring and curtain retailer Diego rose 15% to HUF 18.8 billion last year, the company told state news agency MTI. This year, Diego targets a 12% turnover increase.

The company posted after-tax profit of HUF 384 million in 2017, down somewhat on HUF 436 mln in 2016, reported business daily Világgazdaság. Founded in 1992 and initially a flooring specialist, the company expanded its profile and began building its franchise network from 1996.

There are 154 Diego stores, including 98 in Hungary, 34 in Romania, 20 in Slovakia, and two in the Czech Republic. By 2020, the company aims to have 200 stores, all of which operate as franchises.

Diego employs about 250 people at its headquarters and logistics base in Dabas, southeast of Budapest. A further 600 are employed by franchise partners in Hungary, and 300 more abroad.
