Four-star Hotel Yacht opens at Lake Balaton

Hotel Yacht, a brand new four-star hotel opened yesterday in Siófok on Lake Balaton, near the cityʼs marina, realized with a HUF 1.4 billion investment, which included a HUF 1 bln European Union grant, Hungarian online daily index.hu reported yesterday.
The construction of Hotel Yacht took roughly ten months to complete. It has a total of 70 rooms and can accommodate up to 250 guests, providing wellness, therapeutic and executive services. A medical unit was also set up at the hotel to provide specialized treatments for patients with medical conditions.
With 5,000 hotel and 25,000 private rooms available in the area, Hotel Yacht is a much needed and welcome addition, Péter Havas, managing director of development at SH Fejlesztő Kft., told Hungarian news agency MTI, in connection with the opening of the hotel.
The hotel will provide approximately 40 new jobs, governing Fidesz MP Mihály Witzmann said at the opening ceremony, adding that tourism is a major part of economic growth for any country, and as such the quality of service must be top notch.
The hotel had its “soft opening” at the end of January and during this trial period, turnover surpassed expectations by nearly 30%.
The Siófok area has seen a rising need for new accommodation, given that in the last year alone over one million guests stayed overnight in the Balaton area, index.hu said.
