Four bid in e-toll tender
All four parties cleared to bid in a in a tender to build an electronic toll system called by Hungary's State Motorway Management Company (ÁAK) submitted offers by the deadline, ÁAK said on Monday.
Negotiations with the parties will start early next week, ÁAK said. ÁAK said earlier that it cleared the four parties to bid in the tender, but did not name them.
Dailies Népszabadság and Népszava said the four parties were T-Systems Magyarorszag, Getronics Magyarország, a consortium of Kapsch Trafficom and Kapsch Telematic Services, and China International Telecommunication Construction Corporation (CITCC).
Hungarian IT company Synergon said its unit Synergon Integrator was cleared to bid in consortium with CITCC. Hungary is to introduce an electronic toll system by July 1, 2013 at the latest under a recently published government resolution.
The size of tolls in the new system will be determined by distance travelled. The system at present uses vignettes valid for time increments. The government has allocated HUF 42 billion for the construction of the system.
