Főgáz takes over 600,000 E.ON clients

Főgáz, a unit of Hungaryʼs state-owned utilities company ENKSZ, took over 600,000 clients of gas distributor E.ON on January 1, Főgáz CEO Gábor Králik said on Saturday.
From the start of January, Főgáz became the universal service provider for clients in Hungaryʼs Fejér, Tolna, Baranya, Somogy, Zala and Veszprém counties.
Főgáz again assured clients that they do not need to sign new contracts, change their gas meters or perform technical modifications and reiterated that it would not restore service to clients whose gas had been shut off until they settle the balance with E.ON.
With the takeover of E.ON clients, ENKSZ is now the universal gas provider for 2.2 million clients.
