Főgáz ready to take over 600,000 E.ON clients
State-owned FŐGÁZ is prepared to take over 600,000 clients of gas distributor E.ON, the company said yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
FŐGÁZ will give detailed information to clients this month about the change in distributors. FŐGÁZ assured clients they do not need to sign new contracts, or change their gas meters or perform technical modifications.
FŐGÁZ reiterated that it would not restore service to clients whose gas has been shut off until they settle the balance with E.ON.
The company will take over clients from E.ON by January 1 at the latest.
FŐGÁZ is the bridgehead onto the gas market of the First National Utilities Company (ENKSZ). FŐGÁZ reached an agreement with E.ON regarding taking over its clients this past summer.
