Fewer Hungarian managers would resort to graft to seal deals
A little less than 23% of Hungarian managers would resort to graft to close a deal, according to a fresh survey by consultancy Ernst and Young, down from about 30% two years ago, partner Ferenc Bíró said on Wednesday. Almost 8% of managers would contact the police if they were bribed, nearly double the percentage two years earlier, according to the survey. The survey of top managers at 340 companies with 50 or more employees and annual revenue exceeding HUF 250 million showed just 28% of companies have a code of ethics. Less than 9% have in-house staff who target corruption.
