Eagle Ottawa expands capacity at base in Hungary

US-based automobile interior maker Eagle Ottawa on Tuesday laid the cornerstone of a HUF 2 billion (€6.8 million) expansion at its base in Szolnok, central Hungary. Eagle Ottawa is expanding capacity at the base by 55%. Eagle Ottawa Hungary managing director Bryn Kahrl said the expansion would raise headcount of full-time workers in Szolnok from 800 at present to more than 1,000. Interiors made at the plant in Szolnok go into vehicles made by BMW, Daimler, Ford, Honda, Hyundai-Kia, Land Rover, Renault-Nissan and Toyota. Eagle Ottawa’s Hungarian unit had net income of HUF 1.9 billion on revenue of HUF 15.7 billion in its 2010/11 business year, MTI reported.
