Donau Chemie starts test operation at €6.5 mln plant in E Hungary
Austrian chemicals company Donau Chemie has started test operation of a €6.5m water treatment chemicals plant in Kazincbarcika, CEO Franz Geiger told MTI on Friday. Geiger said the plant was 99% finished and production would start this month. The plant, which will make poly-aluminum chloride (PAC) and ferric chloride (FeCl3), is located at the base of Hungarian peer Wanhua-BorsodChem. It has annual capacity of 105,000 tonnes, but this year it is expected to produce 2,000-2,500 tonnes a month. Capacity will rise from about 25% in the first year to 100% in 3-5 years, Geiger said.
