Casinos to open their doors in 2015
Casinos owned by Andy Vajna, government commissioner for the Hungarian film industry, will only open next year, the National Economy Ministry announced yesterday.
Andy Vajna’s company Las Vegas Kft, which won concessions to run five casinos in and around the capital, was granted a request to push back the effective date of the licence from September 1, 2014 to January 1 of next year.
The delay was accepted after consulting with the National Development Ministry. Las Vegas Kft will have more time to train local staff which currently lacks the necessary experience in non-electronic gambling, the ministry said.
The five casinos are expected to give jobs to at least 450 trained Hungarian workers.
