Audi Hungary to raise pay, strike canceled

The Hungarian subsidiary of German car manufacturer Audi was able to come to an agreement with Audi Hungaria Independent Trade Union (AHFSZ) on Friday regarding raising the wages of its workers, as such the planned strike has been canceled, according to a report by Hungarian news agency MTI.

The agreement is expected to be signed today and more details will be made public after its execution, according to reports.

AHFSZ established a strike committee on March 21 after negotiations on the wage increase of employees at Audi Hungaria’s plant in Győr reportedly failed. The AHFSZ asked for at least a HUF 15,000 uniform raise to basic wages, retroactive to January. Furthermore, the union also asked for a revision to the current salary system, and called for the creation of a “working group” to decide on a new wage system.
