Auchan targets CAPEX of HUF 17 bln in 2018

The local unit of French supermarket chain Auchan plans capital expenditures of HUF 17 billion next year, Auchan Hungary told state news agency MTI. Auchan has invested more than HUF 200 bln in Hungary over the last 19 years.

Auchan plans to open 30 supermarkets in Hungary in the coming years, strengthening its position on the local market with a "new format" as well, the business said. At present, Auchan has 19 hypermarkets, 18 petrol stations and a webshop in Hungary.

Last year, Auchan Hungary had profit of HUF 3.6 bln on revenues of HUF 350 bln. Some 43 million shoppers visited Auchan stores during the year. The local unit employs almost 7,000 people.
