AHa! Brain Store startup program reaches final phase

Incubators

A total of 148 startups applied for the AHa! Brain Store corporate acceleration program, created by telco Antenna Hungária and Drukka Startup Stúdió, with the 11 best teams waiting for the decisions of a panel of experts.

"We got to know a high number of promising startups within the framework of our program, and weʼre very glad that the innovational and entrepreneurial drive is getting stronger among the Hungarian youth," said Sándor Dóbé, Antenna Hungáriaʼs strategic and business development director. "As a significant member of the domestic telecommunications sector, we find the realization of innovative ideas especially important," he added.

The 11 best teams picked by a panel of experts took part in a "boot camp" organized in the second week of September. In a few weeks, the projectʼs leaders will pick the teams that they deem worthy of receiving investments and a six-month incubation service.

"Teams picked after the boot camp will be provided access to Antenna Hungáriaʼs clientele, marketing channels, construction and testing infrastructure, project management experiences, and telecommunications network, apart from the investment worth tens of millions of forints," said Dóbé.

The AHa! Brain Store acceleration program, which was announced this spring, aims at assisting in the realization of innovative solutions in the areas of show production, broadcast networks, multimedia, wireless and cloud-based solutions, IT/telecommunication, big data, and IoT. The program focuses mainly on hardware solutions.

Four of the best 11 teams are involved in drone technology, with two teams making tracking IoT technologies, and a further two startups creating agrarian IoT programs helping beekeepers. Submissions also included AI-based radio audience analysis technology, and an application for finding empty parking spaces in cities.
