3,600+ companies liquidated in Hungary in February

A total of 3,662 companies underwent liquidation in Hungary during the month of February, the second-highest monthly total ever (behind only October 2013), information services provider Opten announced yesterday.

Opten reported that the number of companies liquidated in Hungary rose 39% in the first two months from the same period in 2013, a year which saw a record number of company liquidations. In January, 2,641 companies were liquidated.

Along with the release of the figures, Opten noted that the record number supports the company’s previous prediction that up to 40,000 companies could undergo liquidation in Hungary this year as a result of the growing number of mandatory liquidations ordered by the authorities against companies found in non-compliance with regulations.
