Unattended baggage prompts railway station closure

The Hungarian police closed and emptied the whole area of Budapest’s Eastern (Keleti) Railway Station this morning after finding baggage without an identifiable owner, according to Hungarian online daily news service index.hu. Traffic was restored at time of writing, although serious delays were expected.
The station stopped operating for several hours while police special forces searched the baggage, which was eventually found to present no danger, according to index.hu. Closure of the station, one of the main hubs of Hungary’s railway network, was subsequently lifted.
