Russian counter-sanctions to consider Hungary’s and Greece’s positions

The European Union recently extended its sanctions against Russia, which the country intends to respond to with its own counter-sanctions. When formulating these sanctions, however, it will take into account the positions of Hungary and Greece, who opposed the sanctions on Russia, Sputnik news reported.
“Russia will adopt adequate, weighted counter-sanctions. However, it is necessary to take into account the stances of countries such as Greece, Hungary and others, which oppose EU sanctions,” said Speaker of Russia’s Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
