RTL Klub revenue edges down to €99 mln in 2011

Revenue of RTL Klub, the Hungarian unit of European entertainment network RTL Group, edged down about 6% to €99 million in 2011, the parent company said in its report for the period published on Tuesday.
RTL Klub's EBITA fell 21% to €15 million.
RTL Klub's prime time audience share in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic increased to 29.8% in 2011 from 29.1% in 2010, although its advertising market share dropped to 47.9% from 48.6%.
RTL Group attributed the decline in ad market share to "strong growth of the cable channels".
The parent company noted that RTL Klub extended its lead over its closest rival, TV2, from 6.5 to 10.5 percentage points in prime time. It added that RTL Klub was the most-watched channel in the target group on 348 out of 365 evenings, and it aired all of the 100 most-watched television programs of the year.
