Report: Hungarian real estate market on the rise

The Hungarian real estate market saw its most prosperous year in 2015 since the beginning of the financial crisis, real estate broker Duna House said today in a press release.

The number of properties sold last year increased by a year-on-year 20%, reaching approximately 135,000, Duna House said, based on its estimates. In the last quarter of the previous year, 32,434 properties were sold, while in December a total of 10,039 properties traded hands, the broker said.

The highest sales were reached in July of last year, with 12,355 properties sold, and the number of properties sold in March, April and June exceeded 12,000 each month. In January of last year, 9,040 properties were sold, making it the weakest month of the year, Duna House added.
