Number of counterfeit banknotes remains low
The number of counterfeit forint bills remained low in the third quarter in Hungary, figures from the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) show.
In Q3 2011, 678 counterfeit bills were withdrawn, slightly up from 572 in the previous quarter.
In the third quarter of 2010, the number of counterfeit bills was 2,409, and their number steadily decreased until Q2 2011.
Authorities also seized 431 counterfeit foreign-currency bills, of which 296 were euros.
