The city of Makó has started a more than HUF 10 billion project to double the capacity of its thermal baths and upgrade its surroundings, the government commissioner in charge of the project told MTI.

János Lázár, who is also the MP for the region, said a water park for families with children would be added to the spa.

Feherep is the general contractor for the HUF 9.2 bln government-supported spa expansion. An additional HUF 1.1 bln of investments are being undertaken by the government in the area around the spa.

The project will last about a year and a half.
