Hungary Q2 GDP growth climbs to 2.1%

Hungary's Q2 gross domestic product (GDP) grew an unadjusted 2.2% and a calendar-year adjusted 2.1% from the same period a year earlier.
The Q2 figure compares to analysts' estimate of 1.9%. In the first half year, GDP was up 1.6% from the same period of 2007.
Preliminary Q2 growth was up from an unadjusted 1.7% yr/yr and a calendar-year adjusted 0.9% in Q1. KSH revised calendar- year adjusted Q1 figure to 1.0% in the preliminary Q2 announcement on Thursday.
Hungary's GDP grew a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter 0.6% in Q2, up from earlier registered 0.3% and equal to the just revised 0.6% rise in Q1.
In 2007, Hungary's economic growth was a sluggish 1.3% including an unadjusted 0.8% in Q4 last year. (MTI – Econews)
