Hungary mobile phone subscriptions rise to 11,690,000 in Dec

The number of mobile phone subscriptions in Hungary rose 47,000 to 11,642,000 in December, the National Media and Infocommunications Authority said on Monday.

The number of active mobile phone subscriptions - numbers that were called or from which calls were made in the previous three months - rose 112,000 from the previous month to almost 11,100,000 in December.

Market penetration rose slightly, to 117.3 SIM cards per hundred people from 116.8 in November.

T-Mobile’s market share based on the total number of subscriptions rose to 45.04% from 44.93% in the previous month, Telenor’s dropped to 31.97% from 32.25% and Vodafone’s increased to 22.99% from 22.81%.

Based on subscriptions generating turnover, T-Mobile’s rose to 45.40% from 45.38%, Telenor’s fell to 31.98% from 32.03% and Vodafone’s rose to 22.63% from 22.59%.
