Hungary mobile phone subscriptions fall to 11,702,000 in July

The number of mobile phone subscriptions in Hungary fell almost 3,000 to 11,702,000 in July from the previous month, the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) said on Monday.

The number of active mobile phone subscriptions -- numbers that were called or from which calls were made in the previous three months -- rose 24,000 to reach 10,983,000 during the month. Market penetration was unchanged at 117.4 per hundred people in July compared to June.

T-Mobile's market share, based on the total number of subscriptions, rose to 44.52% in July from 44.50% a month earlier, Vodafone's grew to 22.66% from 22.59% and Telenor's fell to 32.82% from 32.90%.

Based on the number of active subscriptions, Vodafone's market share rose to 22.68% from 22.62%, Telenor's fell to 32.20% from 32.27%, and T-Mobile's rose to 45.12% from 45.11%.
