Hungary guest nights up 0.8% yr/yr in June

Guest nights at commercial accommodations in Hungary edged up 0.8% year-on-year to 1,908,000 in June, following a 6.1% drop in May, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Tuesday.
Guest nights spent by foreigners rose 4.6% to 976,000. Germans accounted for 225,547 of these nights.
Guest nights spent by Hungarians fell 2.9% to 932,000.
Hotels accounted for 1,346,000 of guest nights in June. The occupancy rate at hotels during the month was 49.7%.
Total gross revenue of public accommodations came to HUF 22.66 billion in June, up 1.8% from the same month a year earlier.
Hotels accounted for HUF 19.84 billion of total gross revenue of public accommodations.
In January-June, the average room rate at hotels in Hungary was HUF 14,076 per night. Revenue per available room (REVPAR) during the period was HUF 5,994.
