Hungary freight deliveries down in Q4
Freight deliveries by Hungarian logistics companies fell 3.6% in the fourth quarter of 2011 from a year earlier in terms of freight-ton kilometers and fell 5.7% if measured in tons, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Monday.
The number of freight-ton kilometers, at 12.092 billion, fell 3.6% yr/yr in the fourth quarter of 2011 after a 1.1% drop in the third quarter. Freight-ton kilometers rose 0.7% in 2011 as a whole after increasing 0.8% in 2010.
Hungarian companies carried 66.696 million tons of goods in Q4 2011, down 5.7% from the same period of 2011. Freight deliveries measured in tons fell 10.5% yr/yr in Q3 2011 after falling 7.6% in 2010. In the entire 2011, freight deliveries measured in tons were down 6.0%.
Domestic deliveries fell 11.3% in Q4 2011 to 42.021 million tons after dropping 16.0% in Q3 and dropping 14.3% in 2010. In the year 2011, domestic deliveries were down 11.1%.
International deliveries were up 5.6% in Q4 2011 at 24.676 million tons after rising 3.8% in Q3 2011 and 11.0% in the full year of 2010. In 2011 as a whole, international deliveries were up 5.2%.
