Hungary broadband DSL, cable and optical internet subscriptions reach 1,992,000 in July

The number of broadband DSL, cable and optical internet subscriptions in Hungary reached 1,992,000 in July, up 10,000 from the previous month, a fresh report by Hungary's National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) shows.

The number of DSL subscriptions, which use conventional fixed line technology, was 795,000 in July, unchanged from the previous month. The number of cable subscriptions climbed 5,000 to 783,000 and the number of FTTH and FTTB subscriptions, which use optical technology, increased 3,000 to 238,000.

Magyar Telekom controlled 34.6% of the market in July. UPC was runner-up with 20.9% market share and DIGI was in third with 12.3%.
