HungaroControl launches WALTER

Hungarian air traffic control company HungaroControl yesterday launched an online flight tracking system, called "Walter", which tracks flights to and from the Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest, the company announced.

The history of the system, which was developed by the Public Transport Information Center of the Institute of Public Transport Science, displays flight information as far back as 15 days.

Walter is an acronym for Web Alapú Légiforgalmi Tájékoztató Elektronikus Rendszer which translates as "web-based electronic information system of flight traffic".
