Hungarian visits to Croatia up 10% last year

Some 397,000 Hungarians spent more than 2.15 million guest nights in neighboring Croatia in 2014, the highest numbers in eight years and an increase of 10% from 2013, the Budapest head of the Croatian Tourism Community, Marin Skenderovic, told Hungarian news agency MTI yesterday.
With these figures, Hungary was responsible for the third largest increase among the ten major foreign countries whose tourists go to Croatia, both in terms of the number of tourists and guest nights they spent in the country, Skenderovic added.
Taking 1995 as a reference year, the largest number of Hungarian tourists visiting Croatia was 453,000, recorded in 2005, Skenderovic said, adding that Hungarians spent 2.4 mln guest nights in the country that year.
