Hotel occupancy rate up at 55.9% in November

The number of guests staying in Hungarian hotels rose 3.3% in November year-on-year, while the average occupancy rate was 55.9%, said the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Thursday. In October, the average occupancy rate was 65%. In January-November guests spent 5.7 % more nights in hotels year-on-year, while average occupancy was 61.9%. The gross average room rate was Ft 14,167 (€55.8) in November, up from Ft 13,249 a year earlier. Gross revenue per available room (RevPAR) was Ft 7,915 in November, 8% more than a year earlier. In January-November, the gross average room rate was Ft 15,203 and RevPAR was Ft 9,405.
