The bookings, registered in a database updated daily with information commercial lodgings are required to provide, are well over the 304,000 guest nights spent by visitors in April 2020.

 Bookings for the month of May stand at 625,000 guest nights, up 11% from the same month a year earlier.

The agency said Hungarians' wanderlust could be boosted by the close to 20% increase in SZÉP voucher card top-ups.
