Hungarian state-owned lottery company Szerencsejáték Zrt. has predicted an increase in sales of its most popular five-number pick lottery ticket due to the rollover jackpot reaching HUF 3.23 bln (€10.7mln), Hungarian economic daily Napi Gazdaság said today.

According to the company, ticket sales could reach 7 million prior to the draw on Saturday and foreigners, chiefly from Romania and Slovakia, are also expected to purchase tickets, constituting 6-8% of overall sales.

Hungarian news agency MTI noted that the number of pick-five tickets sold weekly climbed to a little over 7 million three years ago, when the jackpot reached HUF 4.11 bln. The record number of tickets sold, however, was 14 mln in 2003, when the jackpot rose to HUF 5.09 bln.
