German airline OLT scraps Budapest-Debrecen flight

Tourism

German airline OLT has terminated flights between Budapest and Debrecen, east Hungary, spokeswoman Ágnes Kovács announced on Monday.

OLT has withdrawn unilaterally from the contract it concluded with the owner and operator of Debrecen airport to operate daily flights, Kovács said. Problems with ticket sales and value-added-tax administration have been hindering the company's operation, she said. The flight, which carried its 2,000th passenger in October for a return-ticket price of Ft 25,000 (€93.63), was popular with foreign businessmen.
