Frozen pizza sales shoot upwards

Frozen pizza sales in Hungary have increased both in number and value in Hungary year-on-year. Most of the product was sold in Budapest and its environs, says market research firm Nielsen.
According to figures covering the period from July 2017 to June 2018, Hungarians bought 18 million frozen pizzas, a 12% growth compared to a year before. The growth was even higher in terms of value, at HUF 8 billion, a 17% increase year-on-year, Nielsen said, cited by news portal index.hu.
The most popular were pizzas with ham, with a market share of one quarter of the total amount sold. Second ranked was salami-topped pizza, followed by other flavors (Hawaii, quattro formaggi etc). Also present in the top five was Margherita pizza.
Most of the sales, 42%, were registered in Budapest and its vicinity. Two-thirds were sold in discount shops and supermarkets.
