Foreign guest nights down 4.7% yr/yr in April

Foreign travelers spent 772,000 guest nights at commercial accommodations in Hungary in April, 4.7% less than in the same period a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Monday.

In the first four months, foreign guest nights fell 6.9% year on year to 2.095 million. Hungarian travelers spent 1.914 million guest nights at hotels in Hungary in January-April, up 7.3% year on year. Including foreign travelers, the number of guest nights decreased 0.6% year on year to 4.008 million in the first four months. Alone in April, total guest nights at commercial accommodations rose 4.4% to 1.359 million, and the number of guest nights spent by Hungarian travelers increased 19.4% to 587,000.

 

The revenues of Hungarian hotels grew by 10.4% year-on-year between January and April.
