Close to 60% of Hungarians plan summer vacations in-country
Almost 60% of Hungarians have firm plans to travel in-country over their summer vacation this year, a representative survey by insurer Generali Biztosító shows, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The survey shows one-fifth of Hungarians want to travel both to destinations in Hungary and abroad, while 47% said they will definitely not leave the country.
Generali Biztosító noted that more people from the capital and other big cities around the country plan to travel in the summer than residents of smaller settlements.
A little more than one-third of Hungarians are partial to visiting Lake Balaton this summer. Around 15% said they don't care where they vacation, as long as it's cheap.
