BAA sale not to affect Budapest Airport

Once it has acquired British airport operator BAA Plc, Spanish investor Grupo Ferrovial SA will consider divesting the latter's subsidiaries outside of the UK including the recently privatized Budapest Airport Rt, Ferrovial informed business daily Napi Gazdaság.

A potential ownership change will not have an impact on the operation of Budapest Airport, since its current majority owner BUD Holding Zrt, a locally registered subsidiary of BAA International Holdings Ltd, is bound by the constraints and obligations laid down in the privatization agreement, communications director of the State Privatization and Holding Rt (ÁPV) Péter Oravecz said.
