A third of Hungarians have summer vacation plans

One-third of Hungarians plan to take a summer vacation this year, state news wire MTI reports, citing a representative survey by bookings site Szallas.hu and Ipsos.

About two-thirds of those who have travel plans for summer will only vacation in Hungary, while around one-fifth want to go abroad. A little over one-tenth plan domestic trips as well as ones abroad.

Hungarians are booking stays away from home for four nights, on average, this year, Szallas.hu data show. They are spending an average HUF 118,700.

Reservations for accommodations around Lake Balaton account for 35% of Szallas.hu bookings for summer.

One-third of Hungarians have no travel plans this summer.
