Tatabánya wants to expand industrial park
The local council of Tatabánya (NW Hungary) wants to expand the city's industrial park by 70 hectares, mayor Csaba Schmidt told MTI on Wednesday.
Only about 20 of the park's 260 hectares that are inside Tatabánya are vacant, and most of this area is made up of smaller parcels, while a good part of investors want 10 hectares or more, Schmidt said.
The Tatabánya Industrial Park has a total area of 450 hectares, of which 260 are in Tatabánya and 190 in neighboring Környe.
Among the companies in the park are Austrian plastic packaging maker Alpla, Japan's Ashai Glass Company, Japanese tire maker Bridgestone, Danish medical supplies company Coloplast, Danish pump and engine maker Grundfos and French electrical interconnect maker FCI.
US-based BD Medical-Pharmaceutical Systems recently completed a syringe factory in the park, German household products maker Henkel built a glue factory and Korea's Samsung opened a plastics plant. Spain's Mivisa inaugurated a can plant in the park.
