PROMOTION: Have you ever injured your leg while playing sports? Maybe you came down with the flu just a few days before an important presentation. But seeking medical treatment in a foreign country can expose you to perplexity, long waits and rudeness. Wherever you choose to go, nothing is more important than the health of yourself and your family – being assured that you are prepared for any eventuality. Generali Health Plan offers a complex solution to this problem.

We often hear stories where a foreign work assignment ends with a huge medical bill: A sudden injury or illness can undo even the most careful planning. In Hungary, a simple internist examination may cost as much as HUF 16 000, and the medical expenses associated with the treatment of a more severe injury, for instance a fracture, may be much higher, costing hundreds of thousands of forints.

Even adults can feel dependent and helpless when unwell in an unfamiliar environment, especially if they do not have health insurance coverage. So it is highly important to choose a health insurance plan that both you and your family members can truly rely on while staying abroad, since you can no longer depend on the medical advice of your own family doctor.

I am not a patient – I am a client

“As long as you have your health...” goes the old saying. But in fact it does matter what healthcare costs. It is important to feel safe and secure where ever you happen to be: this was Generali’s main focus while developing its comprehensive health insurance plan. The solution has opened up the possibility to make medical care of the highest standards available to a wide range of the public. Under Generali’s Health Insurance Plan anyone can purchase complex coverage for a monthly premium of 5 000-10 000 HUF. (In comparison, a single routine examination may cost more in a private practice.)

With the fee-for-service health insurance solution, you will no longer have to wait hours to see a doctor in an unpleasant, crowded waiting room. You can schedule your appointment well in advance, so you can be sure you will get back to the office in time for that important meeting.

Calls are answered 24-hours a day by physicians

Under Generali’s health insurance plan, you can schedule appointments with more than 200 licensed physicians all around the country, while you may also choose from a wide range of health check-ups, including melanoma (skin cancer) screening, oral health and dental screening, under your coverage. The basic coverage also includes lab tests, diagnostic procedures, and outpatient care, as well as access to the Generali Medical Helpline, where you can get medical advice on the phone every day of the week if you need firsthand information in connection with an urgent medical question. The plan also offers e-psychology counselling, to help find viable solutions to the problems of adults, children or teenagers whether it’s about a career choice or a private life crisis, a workplace issue or stress management difficulties.

One of the reasons why the Generali Health Plan is so popular is because it has been developed in response to the customers’ needs. The insurance plan applies no limits to the receipt of covered medical care: in other words, you may see your doctor as often as it is necessary, and the insurance covers all medically reasonable care, including even inpatient treatment if you choose the most complex coverage option. Whether you call in, or you visit the clinic in person, you will be able to talk to English speaking medical professionals.

Our experience shows that our clients most often choose the medium coverage option, available for HUF 8 000-16 000, which includes prenatal care, house calls, ambulatory surgeries and patient transport. If your child is ill and you feel that it is safer to keep him/her at home, you may call your GP for medical advice - or request a visit to your home if it is medically necessary. The extra coverage option includes, in addition to the above, inpatient hospital care in a VIP private room: with that you can make sure your health is in the best hands.
