Parliament approves package of amendments to energy laws

Parliament on Tuesday approved a package of amendments to energy laws necessary to implement an EU decree on measures that protect secure gas supply, the National Development Ministry told MTI on Wednesday.

The amendments mandate the Hungarian Energy Office to draw up an action plan for preventing gas crises and another for dealing with them.

The changes to legislation establish a new district heating regulatory and pricing system that prevents consumers from unjustified extra burdens.
