Mátészalka plans to expand local industrial park
The east Hungarian town of Mátészalka plans to expand its industrial park over the next few years, Mayor István Szabó told MTI on Wednesday.
Szabó said that the companies currently operating at the park, including German optical-system company Carl Zeiss AG and high-tech glass and mirror company Flabeg and Japanese optical-equipment company Hoya, paid HUF 710 million in local taxes in 2010, which accounted for over 10% of the city's annual budget last year.
Szabó noted that there are currently only 10 vacant hectares of land available for development at the city's industrial park.
