Magyar Építő, Strabag win Ft 1.67 bln zoo reconstruction tender

A consortium of construction companies Magyar Építő Rt and Strabag Rt have won a Ft 1.667 billion tender to complete the second phase of reconstruction of the Budapest Zoo, according to the Public Procurement Gazette.

The consortium will be responsible for renovating some of the zoo's outdoor and indoor exhibitions. Also bidding in the open tender were Európai Építő Rt, Maszer Zrt, Progress-B 90 Kft and a consortium led by Hérosz Rt.
The reconstruction of the zoo, a historical landmark built around the turn of the last century, is being paid for in part with central budget funding.
